About this course

The course develops foundational accounting knowledge through four AAT units: Introduction to Bookkeeping, Principles of Bookkeeping Controls, Principles of Costing and Introduction to the Business Environment. Topics include financial administration, general ledger work, purchase and sales ledger functions, and basic costing. Teaching is delivered online with tutor involvement, combining subject learning with preparation for unit-based assessment.

Is this course right for you?

The course is intended for improver-level learners seeking an introduction to accounting and finance. Applicants should be aged 19 or over and hold GCSE Maths and English at grades A*-C or 9-4, Functional Skills Level 2, or another relevant qualification considered at interview.

Before you go

• Assessment takes place after each of the four units through computer-based exams.
