Abstract Drawing & Painting

A beginner-friendly course exploring abstract drawing, collage and painting through experimental compositions based on still life.
About this course
Participants will explore mixed-media drawing and collage by combining spontaneous marks with layered paper, photographs and other surfaces. The course considers how tearing, cutting, pasting and marking can alter texture and composition. Work will also focus on abstracting a still-life scene and developing a painted response through colour and form. Techniques covered include layering, composition, subtraction and surface preparation, with attention to how different processes affect the final image.
