About this course

The course centres on developing scenes through practical text analysis, character work, exploratory improvisation and detailed rehearsal. Participants apply their analysis in practical acting exercises, experimenting with different tactics within scenes or speeches and working towards performance standard. Teaching uses a variety of techniques and may involve individual tasks, pair work, small-group exercises and whole-group activities. The course concludes with scenes performed for an invited audience.

Before you go

  • Bring a pencil and eraser for annotating scripts; a notebook may also be useful.
