Beginner acting course using practical workshops, improvisation, voice and movement exercises, and short scripted scenes for learners without previous acting experience.

About this course

This course introduces acting through practical exercises that develop physical grounding, vocal resonance, active listening and spontaneous responses. Participants explore improvisation alongside short scripted scenes, using basic text analysis to identify character objectives and tactics. Teaching combines tutor demonstrations, workshops, and individual, paired and group activities. Voice and movement practice, discussion, reflection and ongoing verbal feedback are included. Learners also rehearse and perform a short two-person scene, applying the techniques developed during the course.
