Acting and Drama: Improvers

About this course

The course develops acting through warm-ups, games, movement, spatial and vocal exercises, improvisation, script work and scene analysis. Sessions combine group and pair work with individual practice, demonstrations, discussion, observation and peer assessment. Participants investigate texts practically, practise sight-reading and line-learning, and work on timing, reactions and physical and vocal control. They contribute to devised and script-based pieces, review their own and others’ work, and may present work to a public audience in college concerts. Progress is assessed continuously through practical activities and teacher feedback.

Is this course right for you?

This course is intended for improver-level learners developing beyond fundamental acting skills. Broad theatre knowledge or experience is not required, but participants are expected to manage punctuality, concentration, self-motivation and sustained collaboration. Individual level is assessed after the first session, with a possible recommendation to move to another workshop.
