Acting Beginners Course

About this course

The course introduces core acting methods through group exercises, drama games and guided improvisation. Participants explore how stories work, interpret text and use vocal and physical techniques such as breath, projection, clarity and body awareness. Sessions also cover character development and the rehearsal and performance of scenes from plays. Teaching combines practical exercises with exploration of approaches including Stanislavski and modern acting techniques, giving participants opportunities to apply these methods in a group setting.

Is this course right for you?

The course is designed for complete beginners and explicitly welcomes people returning to acting after a break. No previous acting experience is necessary. Participation involves collaborative group exercises, improvisation and rehearsing and performing scenes, so learners should expect to work with other actors as well as individually within exercises.
