Acting Classes - Improvers

About this course

Participants work with prepared texts and improvisation to develop scene interpretation, character objectives and performance choices. Sessions also cover vocal clarity, projection, breath control, physicality, blocking, staging and rehearsal methods, using approaches including Stanislavski, Meisner, Method and Boal. The course is taught through practical exercises, direction and feedback. Scripts and a range of scene material support individual and ensemble work, leading to a showing of participants’ work in the final session.

Is this course right for you?

The course is intended for learners who have completed a beginners acting course, studied acting elsewhere or gained foundational drama or performing arts training. The Improver level indicates work beyond fundamental techniques. Participants should expect practical individual and ensemble exercises, direction, feedback and a final-session showing.

Before you go

• Comfortable clothing that allows movement is requested.
• Scripts and course materials are provided.
• Participants are asked to bring a bottle of water.
• The course may be repeated with different tutors, new material and different exercises.
