Acting Foundation Course - 5 Days

About this course

The course introduces acting for stage and screen through workshops and masterclasses. Participants explore character, objectives, script analysis, voice, movement, ensemble work and improvisation, alongside screen technique such as framing, eyelines, hitting marks and reviewing playback. Sessions also cover musical theatre, combining acting, singing and movement, plus basic stage combat with a focus on safety. Participants work on short texts and scenes, receive tutor feedback, take direction and prepare selected scenes for an informal sharing.

What you'll learn

• Create believable characters using objectives and given circumstances
• Analyse scripts and apply beats, tactics and direction in scene work
• Use breath, articulation, tone, volume and vocal range safely
• Apply screen acting techniques including framing, eyelines, hitting marks and playback review
• Develop physical storytelling, spatial awareness and ensemble skills
• Practise improvisation principles and basic stage combat techniques safely

Is this course right for you?

The course is intended for complete beginners and learners with some performance experience who want to refresh their skills. Beginner level indicates an introduction to core acting techniques. Participation includes practical group workshops, physical sessions, camera work and an informal sharing of scenes.
