About this course

The course examines how acting works and gives learners opportunities to apply acting tools and techniques in extended improvisations. Activities focus on making spontaneous, character-informed choices, developing characters and evaluating performance. Teaching includes regular tutor feedback, exchanges of ideas between students and self-assessment. Learners also set personal targets linked to the course outcomes and may prepare activities to share outside class.

Is this course right for you?

The course is intended for learners with some previous acting study or experience, rather than those starting from scratch. Participants should be willing to work creatively and cooperatively with others, have basic sight-reading skills and be prepared for physical theatre activities. Some preparation outside class and reliable attendance are expected.
