About this course
Participants select scenes from modern plays and develop them through practical text analysis, character work, exploratory improvisation and detailed rehearsal. The process moves from an initial reading towards an off-book performance for an invited audience. Teaching combines large- and small-group sessions with pair and solo work, alongside independent rehearsal and line learning between classes.
What you'll learn
- Analyse dramatic text using scene objectives and given circumstances
- Apply textual analysis to practical acting choices
- Develop and sustain a character within a scene
- Rehearse scenes independently and with other performers
- Perform selected scenes for an audience
