Adobe Premiere Pro video editing: beginners

About this course

Participants learn to manage video footage and assemble clips into sequences using Premiere Pro’s timeline. The course covers transitions, titles, visual effects, audio levels, music, sound effects and basic colour correction, with a short video project providing an opportunity to apply these techniques. Teaching combines demonstrations, guided exercises and individual project work. Progress is assessed through practical editing tasks, with verbal and written feedback from the tutor and peers.

Is this course right for you?

This course is intended for adults aged 19 and over who are new to video editing and want structured instruction in Premiere Pro. No previous video-editing experience is required. Basic computer skills are recommended, while confidence using a camera to record video may be helpful. Learning includes individual project work, peer review and tutor feedback.

Before you go

• No specialist equipment is required from participants. Mac computers and Adobe Premiere Pro are provided during sessions.
• A notebook and storage device may be brought for notes and saving work.
• There is no required work outside class. Adobe software for home practice is optional and not needed to complete the course.
