Advanced ceramics: develop glaze mixing techniques

About this course

The course examines how glazes behave and how their chemistry affects surface results. Participants develop individual projects through controlled experimentation and systematic testing, using tutor demonstrations, presentations, discussion and practical work to investigate possible finishes. Learning is self-paced, with verbal feedback and one-to-one guidance throughout. Learners review their aims and progress with the tutor and have opportunities to reflect on and share their work with peers. There is no formal assessment; progress is considered through the development and evaluation of personal projects.

Is this course right for you?

This advanced course is intended for learners developing beyond foundational glaze techniques. Its reference to foundations established in the earlier Glaze mixing workshop indicates that prior grounding is expected. Participation combines self-paced individual project work with tutor discussion, one-to-one feedback and sharing work with peers.

Before you go
