About this course
The workshop examines short stories and novel excerpts submitted by participants, with discussion and constructive critique used to explore fiction craft. Topics may include character, point of view, pacing, structure and style, arising from the work under discussion rather than following a fixed sequence. Teaching combines group discussion, peer evaluation and tutor feedback. Participants also examine the revision process, assess prose critically and submit their own work regularly for comment, with written feedback prepared and shared in class.

Is this course right for you?
This course is intended for experienced writers who have previously attended writing courses and have some years of creative-writing experience. It involves close reading, group discussion and written peer feedback outside class, and is suitable only for learners fluent in reading and writing English.
