Advanced jewellery and small objects: create a personal piece

An advanced, self-directed jewellery and small-objects course developing design research, metalwork techniques and independent studio practice.
About this course
Learners develop self-initiated jewellery or small-object projects, supported by demonstrations, practical making, discussions, peer learning and individual tutorials. The course combines design research with studio experimentation, helping participants test ideas and refine a coherent body of work. Technical work may include cutting, filing, annealing, soldering, piercing, sawing, drilling, finishing, hinges, catches, handles, riveted cold connections and, where appropriate, furnace casting. Learners review their processes through feedback and reflection while working at their own pace.
