About this course

The course combines thematic exploration with individual photography projects, group shoots, critiques and personalised consultations. Participants research and refine ideas, experiment with photographic techniques, and consider how visual language, art history and theory inform their work. The programme also examines professional practice, including pitching ideas, editing and sequencing images, and developing a coherent body of work. Learners explore printing and display methods, prepare for exhibition, and reflect on their practice through practical sessions, observation, question-and-answer activities and personal learning plans.

What you'll learn

  • Develop photographic concepts from initial research through to final outcomes.
  • Apply visual language to structure compositions and communicate meaning.
  • Refine a personal photographic style through experimentation and critical reflection.
  • Edit images and create photographic sequences for coherent visual narratives.
