AI for the Workplace : Agentic AI and Workflow Automation

About this course

The course examines how agentic AI differs from conversational generative AI, focusing on systems that can plan tasks, use tools and manage multi-step processes. Participants will identify suitable workplace tasks, map processes into triggers, actions, decisions and outputs, and design or configure simple workflows using AI, documents, email, spreadsheets and other applications. Teaching combines demonstrations, short explanations, discussion, guided exercises and individual workflow design. Activities cover instructions, rules, templates, testing, error handling, human oversight and responsible use, including privacy, security, confidentiality and bias.

The course is intended for learners who have already used generative AI tools to generate, edit or summarise content and understand basic prompting. It suits people from different professional backgrounds. No programming experience is required, but learners should be confident using computers, websites, files and online applications.
