About this course
Participants study the General American accent through breath and body alignment, resonance, facial muscle patterns, and sound placement. The course examines vowel and consonant shifts, including the movement of the tongue and mouth, and helps learners identify sounds that may reveal their usual accent. Exercises are applied to scripted text and performance material. Learners record, review and refine their work, receiving tutor feedback on individual challenges within the group class.
