About this course
The course examines vernacular photography and visual anthropology, focusing on how photographs document everyday routines, express culture and shape representations of identity and social life. Illustrated lectures and group discussions introduce these ideas, while practical exercises ask participants to create small photo diaries in their own environments. The course also considers photography’s changing role, from recording daily experience to communicating through artistic expression and storytelling.
