Anyone Can Sing Choir

About this course

Sessions combine gentle physical warm-ups, vocal technique exercises and tutor feedback with group singing. Participants learn unison, two-part and three-part songs both by ear and from music, with discussion about the repertoire and its musical features.

• Practise exercises that develop rhythmic awareness
• Identify and describe features of songs studied in class

Is this course right for you?

The choir is designed for absolute beginners, including people with little or no singing experience who are uncertain about singing in tune. It takes place in a group setting and does not require music-reading ability. Light movement and breathing exercises form part of the sessions.

• No previous singing experience is required
• Music-reading ability is not required
• Participation in the choir's concerts is optional

Before you go

• Music and lyric sheets are supplied.
• Bring a pencil for making notes.
• Tell the tutor about any issues that may affect mobility or breathing, as sessions may include light movement and breathing exercises.
