Arabic 3 upper: module 2

About this course

The course develops spoken Arabic through discussion of weather, sports, hobbies, travel and notable places in Jordan, including Amman, Irbid and Jerash. Learners revise the past tense and practise asking for information in formal and informal contexts. Teaching centres on communication, with pair and group work, role plays, games, presentations, hand-outs and audio-visual resources. Reading and writing short texts are also included, alongside strategies for handling unfamiliar language or unexpected responses.

Is this course right for you?

This course is intended for upper-intermediate learners of Arabic, approximately at B2 level, who have completed Arabic 3 upper: module 1 or have equivalent recent study. Learners should be able to follow simple instructions and explanations and read course documents in English. Some familiarity with basic grammar terminology would be helpful.

• Previous Arabic study of around three to four years, or equivalent competence, is expected
• The course is taught in Arabic and emphasises spoken interaction and communication
• Learners should be comfortable using numbers in everyday contexts
• Homework is highly recommended to consolidate learning
