What Beginner (A1) Arabic means

At A1 Arabic, learners are beginning to use familiar words and simple sentences in predictable everyday situations.

  • Introduce yourself

    اسمي آنا. أعيش في لندن.

    My name is Anna. I live in London.

  • Order in a café

    أود فنجان قهوة، من فضلك.

    I would like a cup of coffee, please.

  • Ask for directions

    عفواً، أين محطة القطار؟

    Excuse me, where is the railway station?

These are general examples of language use at this level, not a description of any individual course syllabus.

About this course

The course introduces Arabic through the alphabet, greetings, introductions, question words, family and occupations. Learners work with present simple forms, vowel length, masculine and feminine distinctions, case endings, and definite and indefinite forms, alongside pronunciation and vocabulary.
