What Pre-intermediate (A2+) Arabic means

At A2+ Arabic, learners can connect simple sentences, give reasons and manage a wider range of familiar situations.

    I prefer travelling by train because it is more comfortable and I can read.

  • Handle a small problem

About this course

The course develops Arabic communication around health, the human body, illness, medical appointments, emergencies and first aid. Learners also explore traditional Arabic medicine, painkiller brands used in the Arab world and Sudan. Lessons combine spoken interaction with systematic work on grammar, vocabulary, pronunciation, comprehension and listening. Group activities and role-plays provide opportunities to practise conversations in settings such as pharmacies and doctors’ surgeries, while the course also develops the ability to tell a story in a logical sequence. Teaching takes place in Arabic throughout.

Is this course right for you?

This course is intended for pre-intermediate (A2+) learners who have already studied Arabic to a fairly high level. It requires previous completion of Arabic Level 12 or an equivalent course of at least 144 class hours. Participation includes group work, role-plays and spoken communication, with teaching conducted in Arabic.
