Art Club

About this course

Participants use regular studio sessions to practise drawing and painting, either concentrating on one medium over several weeks or trying different approaches each time. Activities can include creating personal compositions, working from tutor suggestions, and setting up still-life arrangements using supplied props or personal objects. The programme also includes opportunities for life and portrait drawing. Tutors offer ideas, guidance and feedback while participants work at their own pace.

Is this course right for you?

The club is aimed at learners with some previous drawing experience who want to refresh their technique and continue developing through independent studio work. Although listed as All Levels, the description specifically refers to people who have done a little drawing already. Participants work at their own pace while sharing the studio with other learners and receiving tutor guidance.

• Sessions are not presented as a sequential programme, so missing a week does not mean missing a vital part of the course

Before you go

• Paper, brushes and other art supplies are provided, along with easels, drawing boards and studio props.
• Participants may bring objects to draw or use items from the studio props cupboard for still-life arrangements.
