Art History: Insights at Tate Britain

About this course

The course examines selected works from Tate Britain’s collection, considering their historical, cultural and aesthetic contexts alongside artistic movements, individual artists and curatorial approaches. Teaching combines informal lectures with discussion, guided visits, group activities, mindful observation and interactive question-and-answer sessions. Participants compare artworks, identify styles and art schools, and develop informed responses through reflection and conversation. Art-historical information is presented without unnecessary technical jargon or a formal scholarly lecture style.

This course is intended for Beginner learners and does not require previous art history experience.
