About this course
The course examines objects visible in the autumn and early winter sky, including Saturn, Jupiter, Uranus, the Pleiades, Andromeda and Triangulum galaxies, Orion and other seasonal constellations. It also introduces the Plough, Polaris and Cassiopeia, the remnants of the Summer Triangle, opposition, and the Perseid meteor shower. Teaching is mainly through illustrated presentations, with questions, comments, group discussions and exercises. Participants will also consider observation times, Right Ascension and Declination, and the use of astronomical equipment and apps.

Is this course right for you?
The course is labelled Improver and is intended for learners developing beyond a very basic introduction to astronomy. Rudimentary knowledge may help, but it is not essential. Participants are expected to engage respectfully and constructively in group discussions and exercises.
