Award in British Sign Language Level 2 (Intermediate) Part 2

About this course

The course develops British Sign Language across receptive, productive and conversational skills. Learners work with everyday subjects including routines, personal information, and social and working life, while extending vocabulary, grammar and the use of non-manual features such as facial expression. Progress is supported through classwork, homework and individual learning targets. The course is intended to consolidate Level 2 skills and prepare learners to work towards the Level 2 BSL qualification.

Is this course right for you?

This course is for learners who have completed BSL Level 2 Part 1 and want to continue towards an intermediate standard of signing. New learners may be considered if they can provide a recent BSL Level 1 certificate and attend an interview. The advanced (C1+) label indicates that it is intended for learners progressing beyond foundational study.

• Previous Level 2 Part 1 study is identified as the normal starting point
• New learners need a recent BSL Level 1 certificate and an interview
• Homework and consolidation outside class are expected
• Additional support may be available for literacy, numeracy, learning difficulties or disabilities
