What Intermediate (B1) Dutch means

At B1 Dutch, learners can deal with most everyday situations and explain experiences, opinions and plans in connected language.

  • Express an opinion

Ik denk dat thuiswerken handig is, hoewel het soms eenzaam kan zijn.

I think working from home is convenient, although it can sometimes feel lonely.

  • Explain a plan

Ik wil mijn Nederlands verbeteren zodat ik volgend jaar in het buitenland kan werken.

I want to improve my Dutch so I can work abroad next year.

  • Tell a short story

We waren onderweg naar het strand toen het begon te regenen, dus veranderden we onze plannen.

We were heading to the beach when it started raining, so we changed our plans.

These are general examples of language use at this level, not a description of any individual course syllabus.
