Bag Design and Production Short Course

About this course

Participants develop handbag collections from initial research and design concepts through to production planning. Projects consider different lifestyles and occasions, using case studies to examine critical paths, future trends, target audiences, shapes, styles and construction. The course also covers mood and design boards, industry specification drawings and branding for a collection. Teaching combines lectures, discussions, peer presentations and group feedback, with guest input on aspects of the handbag business. This is a handbag design course rather than a bag-making course, so participants do not construct the bags themselves.
