Ballet Classes - Beginners

About this course

Classes develop foundational ballet technique through standard barre exercises, centre work and simple combinations performed in the centre and across the floor. Learners work on alignment, posture, strength, flexibility, coordination, musicality and movement quality, with preparation exercises for pirouettes and allegro. Teaching combines demonstration, guided practice and feedback from the tutor. The course also develops ballet vocabulary and applies technique within movement sequences and performance exercises.

This course is designed for adults who are comfortable with ballet’s first steps and want to continue developing. It may suit learners who have taken a few classes, completed an absolute beginners course or are returning after a break. Complete newcomers are directed towards an introductory course first.
