Ballet Classes - Elementary/Intermediate

About this course

Classes combine detailed barre work with centre practice, including stationary, turning and travelling exercises, followed by jumps, beats and grand allegro combinations. The technical focus includes adagio, petit allegro, pirouettes, advanced port de bras, épaulement and complex enchaînements. Learners work on personal expression and practise dancing both alone and in unison. Teaching also addresses the dynamics of each exercise, with content adapted to the duration of the course and the needs of the group.

• Refine classical ballet technique at the barre, in the centre, through turns and in allegro work.

Is this course right for you?

The course is intended for learners who have completed a Ballet Improvers course or equivalent training and have solid classical technique. Its elementary/intermediate label indicates work beyond fundamental ballet exercises. Classes include individual dancing, unison work and opportunities for solos in smaller groups.
