About this course
Sessions follow the traditional structure of a ballet class, progressing from barre exercises to centre work and jumps. Participants practise ballet steps and enchaînements, with attention to classical technique, safe use of the body and different rhythms. Teaching combines practical demonstrations, verbal explanations, group and individual corrections, and regular feedback. Digital resources such as film and photography may also be used to support study.

Is this course right for you?
The class is intended for dancers returning to ballet, including more mature learners, with at least one year of elementary-level ballet experience or previous study. Participants should have a basic level of fitness and mobility, with a good level of fitness advised for the class.

Before you go
- Participants should wear a leotard or close-fitting top with tights, leggings or close-fitting tracksuit bottoms, and bring ballet shoes.
- Suitable dance support is required for all participants.
- Some preparation outside class may be set, such as preparing favourite exercises to share.
- Photography or filming may be used for learning and publicity; participants can give or decline consent.
- Anyone with pregnancy, serious health conditions or a history of injury is advised to consult a doctor and tell the tutor about activities they have been advised to avoid.
