About this course

The class introduces traditional ballet through barre exercises, centre combinations and basic steps, with attention to body placement, stretching, strength and balance. Participants learn combinations during class and can ask for demonstrations or clarification as needed. Teaching combines verbal instruction, demonstration and personalised feedback. Sessions include revision and consolidation before new movements are introduced, helping participants revisit material while building muscle memory and physical competence.

Is this course right for you?

The course is intended for adults who are new to ballet as well as intermediate dancers. No previous dance training is required, although learners should be reasonably mobile and in good health. Participation involves learning combinations, physical movement and regular revision.

Before you go

  • Bring practical dancewear, ballet shoes or socks, and a water bottle.
