About this course
The course introduces classical ballet technique through warm-ups, ballet classes, barre sessions and technical work. Participants study ballet terminology and history, develop choreography and learn repertory from works including Swan Lake and Sleeping Beauty. Workshops cover contemporary creative movement, flexibility, barre fitness and musical-theatre-influenced choreography, with attention to posture, balance, spatial awareness and turning techniques such as pirouettes. Learning is structured around movement and active participation, and concludes with an opportunity to showcase the work developed during the course.
