About this course

Day 3 forms part of a progressive series in which each day introduces different skills and recipes. Learning begins with demonstrations covering the dishes prepared during the session, followed by guided cooking with support available throughout. Content includes knife skills, preparation and organisation, flavour balance, presentation, time management, cooking with leftovers and reducing waste. Participants practise cooking independently without relying on a cookbook, while preparing a two-course lunch and additional dishes.

What you'll learn

  • Apply knife skills to prepare ingredients safely and efficiently.
  • Organise ingredients and manage preparation across several dishes.
  • Balance flavours and present completed dishes.
  • Use time-management techniques when cooking multiple dishes.
  • Adapt cooking to use leftovers and help avoid waste.
  • Cook the dishes independently without relying on a recipe book.

Is this course right for you?

At Beginner level, the course is intended for learners developing basic culinary skills. The provider recommends starting with Day 1 because the series progresses through new skills and dishes. Day 3 may also suit people who feel confident cooking at home and want professional training. Sessions require sustained focus and maturity in a kitchen environment.

  • Open to all ages, including young cooks who can remain engaged and respect the kitchen environment.

Before you go

  • Food, ingredients, aprons and all necessary equipment are provided.
  • Vegetarian, low-fat and gluten-free dietary requirements can be catered for on request; alternative meals are not covered in the demonstrations.
