About this course
The course develops bass playing through work on grooves, riffs, scales, arpeggios, chord sequences, phrasing and technique. Lessons include tutor demonstrations, handouts and exercises performed with guitar, piano or backing tracks. Participants work in styles including swing, boogie-woogie, rock, R&B, funk, country rock and blues, with play-along tracks available for practice outside lessons. Feedback, advice and question-and-answer sessions are used to support the class work.

Is this course right for you?
This course is intended for players with at least a year's experience, a reasonable command of bass guitar and a basic understanding of chord symbols and harmony. Although it follows Bass Guitar 1, it is also open to learners who have not attended that course.

- Participants should bring a bass guitar and a pen or pencil.
- Earplugs may be useful because the instrument can produce high noise levels.
