About this course

The course examines storytelling across history, cultures and media, alongside analysis of the techniques used by experienced storytellers. Participants develop their own practice through storytelling, reflection and adjustment, considering how delivery affects an audience and where different stories are best presented. Work also introduces Global Reference Theory and Quantum Dynamic Spatial Architecture in simplified form, alongside peer appraisal, journalling, basic mindfulness and ImproStory, a form of creating new stories.

Is this course right for you?

The course is intended for learners developing beyond introductory storytelling, performance or previous study with the course leader, although these experiences are described as useful rather than essential. Participation includes presenting stories, reflecting on practice and giving and receiving detailed feedback.

• Suitable for learners with some storytelling or performance experience.
• Previous attendance on an introductory or related storytelling course may be useful but is not essential.
• Includes peer appraisal and constructive feedback.
