Becoming confident on PowerPoint 365 (beginner)

About this course

The course introduces the main features of PowerPoint 365 through guided, step-by-step tasks. Participants will create slides using text, images, objects, preset designs, formatting tools and slide backgrounds, then arrange content with transitions and animation. They will also practise managing slides, preparing presenter notes and producing printed presentations in different formats. Teaching combines individual work with activities involving other learners, with tutor guidance throughout. Learners will use Google Classroom for additional materials and work outside the classroom.

What you'll learn

• Identify features associated with clear and well-designed presentations.
• Format slide text using fonts, spacing, bullets, numbering, colours and effects.
• Create and edit slides containing text, images and other presentation objects.
• Apply preset designs, animations and transitions to organise visual information.
• Manage slides by adding, deleting, copying and reordering them.
• Use presenter notes and print presentations in different formats.

Is this course right for you?

This is an introductory course for learners who are new to PowerPoint 365. No previous PowerPoint knowledge is needed, but basic general digital skills are expected. Learning includes both individual and collaborative tasks, with some work outside class using Google Classroom.

Before you go

• Bring a pen, lined A4 paper and a folder for keeping work.
• Handouts are provided.
