About this course
Learners design and make their own stained-glass panel, developing the project through successive stages with guidance from the teacher. The course covers techniques for extending stained-glass skills, including working with leaded-light designs, cutting shaped glass, and using colour and texture in composition. Teaching combines group instruction with one-to-one support as each learner progresses through their project. The course is suitable for developing individual designs while receiving technical guidance on their execution.

Is this course right for you?
The course is aimed at beginner to intermediate stained-glass learners, including those developing beyond introductory study. The stated entry route is completion of Morley College’s Introduction to Working with Stained Glass course or similar experience. Teaching involves both group work and individual guidance, and most processes are completed standing.
- Prior introductory stained-glass study or similar experience is expected
- Learners develop an individual panel project with teacher guidance
Before you go
- Sturdy shoes, boots or trainers must be worn; open sandals are not suitable.
- Old clothes or an apron are recommended.
- A sketchbook or A4 notebook, pencils, coloured pencils or pens, and a marker pen may be useful.
- All tools required for the course are supplied.
- Glass, lead and solder are available to purchase in class.
- Safety equipment is provided and health and safety guidance is given.
- The course involves standing for most processes.
- The studio is on the third floor, with lift access.
- The provider does not recommend the course for pregnant learners.
