Beginners Guitar Courses - 8 Weeks

About this course

This course introduces guitar playing for people with no previous experience. Learners work towards playing more than eight songs, reading tablature and using a range of chords, including C, Dm, Em, Am, F, G, A, D, E, A7, D7 and E7. A course book and accompanying YouTube playlist provide additional guidance for practice outside the sessions. The course also offers an opportunity to perform with the group at an end-of-term party, backed by The Guitar Social house band.

Is this course right for you?

The course is intended for people who have never played guitar before. The Beginner label indicates an introductory level, with no additional entry requirements stated. Participation includes playing as part of a group and an opportunity to perform together at the end-of-term party.

Before you go

• Participants should bring the guitar they use most for playing.
• Electric guitar players are expected to bring their own amplifier and lead.
• A course book and access to a YouTube practice playlist are included.
• Missed sessions can be made up by attending another appropriate session in the weekly schedule.
• Participants can join a WhatsApp community focused on practice and guitar-related discussion.
