About this course
The course uses set projects to introduce bezel settings for cabochon stones and tube settings for faceted stones. Learners practise cutting, filing, annealing, forming, sanding, silver soldering, drilling and polishing, with guidance on using machinery and working safely. Teaching combines demonstrations for the group with individual demonstrations and guidance. Group discussion and feedback are encouraged. Learners also receive an introduction to London’s Jewellery Quarter for those considering precious metals and gemstones for their own designs.
