Blossoming buds: textile jewellery

About this course

The workshop explores how fabric remnants, threads and yarns can be shaped into tactile buds, blossoms, beads and tufts for small branching forms. Participants will handle examples, watch demonstrations and work through practical exercises using hand-sewing, wrapping, whipping and binding techniques. The teaching combines group demonstrations with recap guidance and individual support as needed. The workshop focuses on developing textile elements and assembling them into at least one finished brooch or related piece of jewellery.

Before you go

• Bring a selection of small fallen twigs collected from the ground.
• Essential materials and sewing tools are provided.

• An illustrated handout and materials list are provided for continuing practice after the workshop.
