Brazilian Portuguese beginners: module 3

About this course

The course develops basic Brazilian Portuguese for communication in everyday situations. Learners work with grammar, formal and colloquial language, idiomatic expressions, and the four core skills of speaking, listening, reading and writing. Teaching uses spoken interaction, pair and group activities, role plays, games, presentations, hand-outs and audio-visual resources. The course includes language for discussing routines, past actions and holidays, with homework recommended to consolidate classroom learning.

Is this course right for you?

This course is intended for Beginner (A1) learners who have completed Brazilian Portuguese Beginners: Module 2 or have studied Portuguese for less than a year. It involves regular spoken interaction, pair and group work, role plays and games, with homework recommended between classes.

• Prior study of Portuguese is expected through Module 2 or a similar period of learning
• Learners take part in pair and group activities
• Homework is recommended alongside classroom study

Before you go

• The tutor's own materials form the basis of the course.
• A book may be purchased for home study, although this is optional.
