About this course
The course develops BSL communication across topics including work, health, travel and social situations. Learners practise using appropriate vocabulary and grammar, while also working on receptive skills so they can follow signed conversations at the expected pace for Level 1. Teaching covers communication strategies such as facial expression, mouth patterns and body movement. Progress is assessed through practical signing tasks, including both expressive and receptive communication, for the Ascentis BSL Level 1 Award.
