About this course
The course introduces WordPress as a content management system, using the free-hosted WordPress.com service. Learners compare hosted and self-hosted sites, then create, edit and delete pages and add text, images and video. Themes are used to style a site, alongside an introduction to the distinction between Posts, Pages and Themes. Teaching combines step-by-step demonstrations and presentations with practical exercises completed on a computer, resulting in a simple WordPress website that learners can manage.

Is this course right for you?
The course is intended for improver-level learners with good computing skills and experience using a web browser on a PC or Mac. Participants should be able to access email, locate pictures and files, follow spoken and written instructions, and discuss their work. Practical exercises are completed individually on a computer.
