Cake Decorating

About this course

Participants explore cake decorating through tutor demonstrations, hands-on practice, peer sharing and feedback. The course covers buttercream piping, including rosettes and swirls, smooth finishes, fondant design, sugarcraft modelling, 3D construction and geode-style decoration. Projects include heart, rainbow, stacked and celebration cakes, with a portfolio of decorated cakes and a final celebration cake design forming part of the course assessment.

Is this course right for you?

The course is designed for adults with no cake-decorating experience as well as learners who want to extend their existing knowledge. It involves practical work, tutor demonstrations, peer sharing and feedback. Previous cake-baking knowledge may be useful but is not essential, and the course also suits those considering professional cake decorating.

• Learners complete a portfolio and final celebration cake project
• Participation includes hands-on practice and tutor observation
