Capture One: professional photo editing

About this course

The course introduces Capture One’s workflow from importing and organising images through editing and delivery. Participants will customise the workspace, work with Smart Folders and Layers, adjust colour, contrast and detail, use AI retouching tools, and prepare images for web, social media and print. Teaching combines demonstrations with practical group and individual exercises on Apple Mac computers. The course also covers tethered capture, viewing images through the Capture Pilot App, metadata, file renaming, scripts and batch processing, with opportunities to practise during the sessions.

Is this course right for you?

This course is intended for beginners to Capture One rather than beginners to computer use. Learners should be comfortable following written and verbal instructions, working with numbers and simple calculations, and taking part in group discussion. The teaching includes both group and individual practical exercises.

• Some familiarity with computers is expected
• The course is not intended to teach camera operation
• Learners should be prepared to participate in group discussion

Before you go

• Practical work takes place on Apple Mac computers.
• A notebook and pen may be useful but are not stated as required.
• Learners may bring their own RAW images to compare processing results.
