Ceramics Focus: Exploring Glaze, Develop and experiment with glazes

An all-levels ceramics course exploring glaze materials, application, firing effects and the analysis of test results through lessons and group activities.
About this course
Participants investigate glaze materials, finishes and application methods across different clay surfaces. Short lessons introduce glaze theory and practice, while group activities and reflective discussions examine why results fail, how firing temperatures affect work, and how glazes relate to particular clay bodies and making processes. Glaze tests are fired between sessions, allowing participants to assess results and develop further experiments. The course also considers methods for mixing, developing and analysing glazes, with participants able to bring their own pieces for testing.
