About this course
The course introduces or develops ceramic work across different clay types, with practice in hand-building, throwing, decorating surfaces and applying fundamental glazing techniques. Learners make ceramic forms while exploring historical and contemporary approaches to the subject. Teaching combines tutor demonstrations, tailored guidance and project-based work. Participants receive regular feedback on technical and design decisions, with opportunities to contribute to group set projects while developing individual ideas.

The course is open to beginner, returning and intermediate learners. Beginners can be introduced to clay, ceramic forms and glazing, while returning and intermediate students can extend their technical and design skills. Sessions combine individual project work with learning alongside other participants and some group set projects.
