About this course

The course introduces psychodynamic, person-centred and cognitive approaches to counselling, alongside core issues such as confidentiality, ethics, professional boundaries and non-verbal communication. It also covers a range of counselling interventions and skills as preparation for further study at CPCAB Level 2. Teaching combines independent study at home with three on-site sessions. Learners have access to tutor contact details for support and complete two workbooks, which are marked by a counselling tutor and verified by NCFE.
