About this course
Taught in Mandarin, this course develops spoken and listening fluency through topics including directions, personal interests, health, traditional food, and likes and dislikes. Learners practise communicating in pairs and groups, with role plays, games, presentations, hand-outs and audio-visual resources supporting the classes. The course revises grammar, sentence patterns and pronunciation while moving from Pinyin to Chinese characters. Character writing is a particular focus, alongside using language in both spoken and written forms.

Is this course right for you?
The course is intended for learners at an intermediate level, described as those who have completed Chinese 3 lower: module 1 or have an equivalent level of Chinese. Participation involves spoken interaction, pair and group activities, and role plays.
- A working knowledge of 400 to 500 Chinese characters is described as an advantage.
- The course is taught in Chinese (Mandarin).
